Gyaru meme - Day 3

Hey Gals,

after having a long break of that meme I think it's time to restart with part 3 of 30.
Very text-heavy but here it comes. ♥

Day 03 – What’s your best and worst experience with non-gyarus?

I think I want to deepen this topic a little bit and talk about people who haven't got "the same interests" as I.

First, it's much easier to reply to the second part of this question and I want to start with that.

I've never been and will not be the kind of girl who obey to idiots.
My parents always told me that I should speak my mind and I did so.
I also wasn't the kind of girl who loved to party during high school or went shopping for clothes and makeup.
There were other things that were more important to me.

But that was also the reason why I had to endure some things.

~ Worst experiences

First, I was always the girl who likes to draw manga, who was the comic reading geek, the one who took sports for the greatest issue in life (yeah, I was an absolute volleyball freak).
So people often made lots of fun of me.
Reading comics was childish, drawing manga was stupid (but sometimes it was good because I they wanted to draw me one, two pictures for the yearbook, etc.), being in the group of volleyball freaks was stupid itself.
Because I haven't got any interest in fashion or makeup or clubbing I didn't fit in and was some kind of outcasted. The fact that I still spoke my mind underlined it.

People couldn't bully me but they tried to and verbal bullying is also not a nice thing to experience.
Time and people change and then my volleyball team also turned me down - I still don't know what their reason was. One of the girls even tried to terrify me physically during practising. But I didn't give a damn and turned the situation to advance: Actually, the harder she hit the ball and aimed for my face the stronger I get in receiving and blocking.
Still I quitted the team because I can't stand such behaviour around me. I scorn such people.

Being part of a theatre group and doing cosplay at the same time helped me to gain much more confidence and to show people only sides of me they are allowed to show. But also show myself in a comfortable and good way.
Clothes or makeup wouldn't have made a difference because I think they didn't like my personality.
They just couldn't stand the me I was back when.
Maybe it would have been a little bit easier if I was into all the things the other girls were but still the problems would have been there.

Starting to show interest in fashion in makeup five years ago made me little by little stronger.
It was something only done for myself.
I lacked in all kind of things: coords, makeup, hairstyling...
But with every new day of that stuff and trying to cope some outfit ideas of my friend Nadine in my very own way it got better.

~ Best experiences

I'm still not the popular one because I speak my mind and just smile if I feel like it but right now it becomes easier since we've all grown up.They are more tolerant towards each other. And one or two black sheeps will always exist. I guess being a teenager is the most difficult part in life.  ~w
But we should always remember that also the "bad" people have influence on us. How we develop, how we feel, where we will stand years later.

I want to say that I'm proud to overcome difficulties and stand my ground.
Thanks to other wonderful people I met in life, thanks to myself, thanks to the things that kept me going.

If it comes to fashion and makeup I also think that I have developed.
I love being a girl, wearing cute and beautful clothes, doing my makeup and trying out hairstyles.
It's fun!

And even the people who haven't got the same interests as me (focus on Japanese culture, fashion, etc.) kept saying "Oh your eye makeup is beautiful!" or "I love your style" or "You look different from others and you know what you can wear! That's great! I admire you!" from time to time.
That sounds cocky but I'm not stuck-up.
I still lack in so many things and I'm far away from good if it comes to hairstyling and coordinating clothes but these compliments also keep me going.

So I'll continue to do my best! ~♫

And:
It's true if people say you can only look beautiful if you feel beautiful (or: can be loved if you love yourself).
Sometimes it's hard to do so but it's worth to keep going.
Because of so many reasons. But above all: for yourself.

Gyaru meme - Day 2

Day 02 – A picture of yourself with fifteen facts

Recently I haven't got too many pictures of me and becoming
sick today doesn't make it better - red nose, red eyes, haha...

1. I do like plush animals and pokemon - so I collect them if there is a real cute one ♥

2. I love circle lenses but will never be able to wear them - that goes for every kind of lenses! 8D

3. My room is dominated by the old NEWS members aka five posters and a single one with Ryo-kun (but there will be a change with T.O.P when I get my posters)

4. I'm still totally addicted to Ryo-kun

5. I'm also really addicted to guitars - and I'm happy about my Sunny and my eBass Elisabeth

6. Going to the hairdresser always makes me very happy and feeling better

7. In my childhood I wanted to become a comic artist - I still aim for it.

8. I'm frickin' scared of driving so I won't make my driver's license in the near future

9. I was a volleyball player in a sports club during middle and high school.

10. Right now I'm too lazy to exercise after work, running through the ward.

11. When I was young I hated skirts, dresses, hot pants and everything else that was short or airy and too girly - I didn't like my legs (thanks to doing sports there were too much muscles) and I didn't like when men observe you

12. I love being on stage & to let take photos of me (if I'm prepared)

13. So that's one reason why I'm still a cosplayer

14. Doing my makeup in the morning gets me awake for early shift

15. I can't leave home for work or meeting with friends, etc. without makeup but on free days I'm too lazy if it's only for the post office or the super market.

Gyaru meme - Day 1

So, today I want to start a gyaru meme - I guess it's pretty well known everywhere on the internet but I just love doing a meme from time to time.

Sometimes you can discover yourself a bit more. ^^

Okay, enough jabbered - let's start with the first day! ♥

Note: I know that I wouldn't call myself "gyaru" in the usual way.
I'm more a natural type and still I love to express myself, to show some outfits, etc.
Also I'm pretty aware of the fact that I have a lot to learn and want to learn a lot.
I'm still a beginner. ♥

Still "gyaru" inspired my life - is it because of Super Gals! in 2004 or is it because of all the great fashion magazines since 2009 I've been reading...
So for me this meme is a bit more of a "myself" thing right now~

Day 01 – When did you start dressing gyaru?

I guess it started with the May issue 2009 of the magazine Seventeen.

Before when I haven't been a girl who liked makup and stuff so much.

Until graduation I really didn't wear daily makeup.

Want to have an evidence?

2007 I tried some sort of kayal out but didn't think it fit me.

In 2008 really tried out makeup after attending Emilie Autumn's concert!
This beautiful queen of singing had such a great styling... I really loved it! ♥
(But I was too shy & stupid to use eyeliner in a proper way - and I didn't dare a lot because of fearing the reactions of my courses - we weren't best friends...)

Yes, there isn't a photo of 2009 because it was the baddest year of weight and look.
I absolutely NEVER want to have +5kg over normal weght... NEVER! (T_T)

In 2010 I started to love Asian haircuts and doings - and then I had my
Hikki-time and cutted my hair like her. Again and again until it was the short "Prisoner of Love" cut<3
It was a long way until it growed back in its old way.

I started to use and love pink eyeshadow in 2011 and just get tired by it in 2013.
Since when I love brown natural eye makuep.

So since last year I tried a bit with blush, eye brow pencil, etc. and I want to try even harder to get nice results regarding eye makeup.

One goal therefore is to get the image of bigger eyes without circle lenses.
(I can't wear them).
Another point in makeup for this year is nose contouring and techniques to imitate a thinner face. ♥

☆*゚ ゜゚*☆*゚ ゜゚*

Ok, fashion was the next hard point.

I can remember how a former classmate told me last year when we met "I really like your style! You know... you know what to wear, what suits you and you look different from others!"

I thanked for that compliment, truly grateful.

And I have to say that it was a long way... as for fashion as for accepting compliments.

I absolutely was into Japan and popculture and I loved the seifuku (and read GALS!) but although there was a slight wish to be like them I had aber priorities in life (esp. sports). ^^;

When I bought my first Seventeen magazine I was so in love with all the great outfits and looks.
And you know: Seventeen has got very natural outfits.

So I tried to copy outfits but I have to admit that it was gross.

Here's some (bad) fashion history:

2007-2008 I loved checked clothes and accessoires - I rarely wear skirts and moreover
didn't wear dresses because I was the sporty type, being busy playing volleyball and everything.

And I really love to have some gothic elements. Seriously...
... except the gothic elements it was a gross.

2009 - The only real outfit I tried.

It was a stylish white shirt, black knee-length pants
and dark violett boots. It was okay with the coat on
but not without it. ^^;

2011 - Try out a lot of different styles.

Be a nerd, be a chic, be a stud... whatever.
Some outfits I still really like but I would try more with hairstyle
and makeup.

Seeing the influence of Japanese fashion magazines?
A friend and I made our own photoshooting!
That was a funny day - haha. xD

2012 - ... it goes on and on with streetstyle combinations & co
 ...
That's an outfit I never wore but only for the picture.
I still wonder why.

2013 - ... since I know that I love girly or ladylike fashion
I'm absolutely into this.

My wardrobe filled itself with dresses, skirts, etc.

☆*゚ ゜゚*☆*゚ ゜゚*

So only since the end of last year I really thought about the gyaru lifestyle.

I love doing my nails if I have holidays (I'm not allowed to wear coloured nails at work).
I love doing my hair (although I lack a lot in that but it gets better!)
I love doing my makeup every morning so I can start the day cheerfully!
I love shopping!
I love meeting my friends and talking about gal things.

I just love being a gal in every way!

(In earlier days I wished to be a boy because they have it easier... that was my thought but now I'm happy to be a gal and to have the chance to express myself with makeup, fashion, etc.)

☆*゚ ゜゚*☆*゚ ゜゚*

Therefore I have to mention my dear friend Nadine - if it wasn't for her I would never have made up my mind about clothes and makeup so much at first.

She really showed me in a subtile way that it's so fun to go shopping and doll up yourself.
I always love her makeup and her stylings and it's great to spend time together (even if it's 300km away).
Since 2006 we're friends and this should never ends!

She also showed me the first purikura machine. ♥
(Back when in Hamburg in the OCS store and that was another start for wanting more and more to live in a happy and cheerful way.)

☆*゚ ゜゚*☆*゚ ゜゚*

By wearing "gyaru" it's not only clothes, lashes or circle lenses for me.
I can't wear lenses and I wouldn't - still I love them!

Wearing "gyaru" has also got the part of "being".
If I am myself, confident and straight-forward I can feel it.

It makes one strong.
Believe in myself and do what I like as long as I obey the general rules of behaviour is okay.
But that's another topic I will discuss -- I guess Day 5 of this meme.

But of course I want to improve in styling and fashion - just in my pace and my way of styling. ♥

What's inside your favourite bag?

The week's really a mess. (T_T)
So because I can't tell you anything new, I decided to do another meme.
It's a pretty famous one, as you may all know, so here we go without any introduction first:

My favourite bag since almost three years is my black Sugar & Candy schoolbag.

I bought it when I went to university and since when it was always soo helpful for studying, school now and for free time activities.
It's like I can't live without it anymore. -w

So what's inside is this:

☆*゚ ゜゚*☆*゚ ゜゚*

Recently I haven't got my memo and stylus always with me and the book already changed but the rest is definitely the same. (^__^)

Just add a bottle of Vittel water but that's not so special I had to take a picture with it, too. -w

Which manga did inspire you the most?

Hello Gals! <3

It's Sunday, I'm doing nothing but recovering from my cold, studying and drawing ~

Because Sundays often seems to be like that I decided to do some memes from time to time.
I really like meme and did a lot a long time ago on another website (community for anime/manga/music/...).

Today I want to show you my all-time manga favourites.
They are the ones that inspired me the most or are basis for my own work.
I will give a short comment about them after the collection picture.

Most of all are shojo. -w

1 Vitamin (Suenobu Keiko, Planet Manga Panini)
I really, really love this story. ♥
When this was published here, it was maybe one of the first manga who deals with problems of people - here: ijime, an high expecting mother, an oversexed boyfriend and the long way to find oneself again while struggling.

2 Dengeki Daisy (Motomi Kyousuke, Tokyopop)
Motomi's style of drawing is simple but can be very girlish sometimes.
The story has a lot of great slap stick but can be absolutely romantic, too.
And Kurosaki himself is just.... handsome! (〃∇〃)

3 Neon Genesis Evangelion (Sadamoto Yoshiyuki / GAINAX, Carlsen Comics)
A classic manga! ♥
I've been in love with NGE for nine years now, have known it even longer and can't stop be crazy about it. My absolutely favourite character is Asuka - has ever been, will ever be! >3

4 Shin Attack No.1 (Oozawa Kanon, Margaret Comics)*
It's a co-story to the original one "Attack No.1", in Germany known as "Mila Superstar".
This one's much more modern regarding the style and the way of story telling. Much less melodramatic and much more sensitive for feelings and love. ♥

5 Attack No.1 (Urano Chikako, )*
Attaku~ Attaku~ Naaaanbaaaa~ waaaaaan! (///∇//) ~♫
I played volleyball for such a long time... and it all started with Attack No.1.
I really love the anime and was so happy to be able to read the manga, too. ♥
The live action drama was just great and it was also the first time, I watched a series with Aya-chan (Ueto Aya), too. Happy!! ~♪

6 NANA (Yazawa Ai, Egmont Ehapa)
Ah~ what can I say about NANA? It's just fantastic!!! So adorable, so amazing, so .... non ending?! (T▽T;)
I really, really hope that Yazawa-san will continue the story.

7 Boku no hatsukoi wo kimi ni sagasu (Aoki Kotomi)*
That's one of the manga I bought when I was in France. Aoki Kotomi is also known here, but this great series hasn't been published yet. Why?! (T▽T;)
The stories just too cute, Takuma and Mayu are such a sweet couple... why?!
Please, put this manga in the stores!!

8 Cry out for Love (Kazui Kazumi, Katayama Koichi, Egmont Ehapa)
Another one of my everday life's manga.
The manga based on the novel by Katayama Koichi, which I still haven't read.
The story is a pretty sad lovestory one because the female character Aki suffers from cancer.
I like the simple style of drawing and really feeled touched afterwards.
Please read it, if you could! It's worth your time! (;__;)

9 Sunadokei (Ashihara Hinako, Planet Manga Panini)
Uekusa Ann seems to be a happy child but to be real I think she really gets depressed from the suicide of her mother on. She always blamed herself because she told her mother to try harder as an encouragement and it seems that she can't maintain relationships pretty well.
Her first love, drifting apart, the confession of her best friend and her female best friend's 'betrayal' ... a lot of things happens to Ann until the story ends and she got quite older.
A really good shojo manga! (^__^)

10 Paradise Kiss (Yazawa Ai, Planet Manga Panini)
Yazawa Ai again! (>o<)
I love Yazawa Ai for her style! ♥
I only watched the anime and read the first volume of the manga - but I definitely recommend this!

11 Codename wa: Sailor V (Takeuchi Naoko, Egmont Ehapa)
Classic manga literature! -w
I'd rather prefer Sailor V than Sailor Moon because the side story of Aino Minako is just funny, mysterious and sad in a romantic way.

12 Kyou, koi wo hajimemasu (Kanami Minami, Tokyopop)
My latest favourite shojo. I have to admit that the story is a bit unoriginal but the execution of the idea is pretty beautiful. Kanami-san draws Kyokoi in a beautiful way (I didn't like her first works) and it's funny to read the whole Tsubaki and Kyouta-story. There are so many moments you will feel connected with those people ... ♥ Very good shojo-manga!

13 Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (Takeuchi Naoko, Feest Comics/Egmont Ehapa)
CLASSIC! -w
If you don't like magical girl it's definitely nothing for you but if you do... please read it.
The manga's a lot diffrent from the anime and I really prefer the manga style. Each girl looks so beautifully and the guys looks sooooo handsome. ... if you don't notice the wrong anatomy. xD

14 GALS! (Fujii Mihona, Egmont Ehapa)
Re-favourite one!!
It's fancy! It's funny! It's.... GALS!
I haven't had much knowledge about Japan or especially Tokyo when I bought the first two volumes in France and was so happy to have it published here, as well.
But right now, re-reading it, is just great. Shibuya, Ikebukuro, Shinjuku, Harajuku, .... and most of all Kotobuki Ran and the gals! ♥ (For gals a must-have?!)

15 Helter Skelter (Okazaki Kyoko, Carlsen Comics)
Such a crazy and strange manga. It isn't drawn beautifully, it isn't pretty discrete and you may be shocked about the content and the unscrupulousness.
But in fact the story about the manic-depressive model Ririko is just fascinating.

16 Fullmoon wo sagashite (Tanemura Arina, Egmont Ehapa)
Typical shojo-manga with a lot of great artwork, cute scenes and touching moments.
In my opinion it is Tanemura-san's best manga she has ever worked on.
In contrast to the anime the whole topic is handled in a more adult way and there are a lot of differences.
