Haul: essence eyeshadow palette

Hello everyone!

Summer's here. We had some really hot days recently but now everything is cooling down again.
That's more than good for me as I can't bear the sudden warmth.
Really...

Well I haven't bought a lot of make-up recently.
But because my favourite brand KIKO replaced its good old round eyeshadows and also the colours I had to look for other options.

I really love pink eyeshadow and always wear a combination of white, nude and pink on my lids.
Since KIKO I love to have a golden glimmer in the pink one, so it was really hard to find fitting eyeshadows.

Now, essence got a new line up in out drugstores - And I couldn't resist to buy them.

I won't write anything about the quality.
Before I put eyeshadow on my lids I always put on some foundation.
So there isn't any problem with the "non lasting" fact.

But there is something else I wanna write about:

essence sells the eyeshadows in small pots and they sell a palette extra - two sizes.

Good thing: you won't have a lot of pots in your beautycase if you're going out.
They are placed neatly in the palette and can't drop out or smear your case.

Bad thing: the palette is big. The former eyeshadow combinations "quattro" were much more handy to take them with you.

I think it would have been nice if they sell the palettes with a brush.

Nevertheless I really love the colours.
Even the white is a bit shimmering. <3

I'm happy to have found my dearest colours again.
I always wear three or more colours - so I have to smudge them casually.

But doing eye make-up is one of my favourite things!

And the best: Everything I need I can get now by essence for a good price.

On the next day I started with... yeah what?
First I wanted to see the Guard Change at Buckingham Palace but rescheduled my plans and went straight to King's Cross.

I was really overwhelmed by that great constructure!

I really wanted to see the Harry Potter spot "Platform 9 3/4" and after I arrived there
(mislead to St. Pancras first) the shop salesmen welcomed one very warmhearted.

It was fun to talk with them and they complimented me on my SHERLOCKED bag I had with me the day.

Of course I had taken a photo.

But I didn't want to wear the Gryffindor scarf and changed to Ravenclaw.
That was an applause - because EVERYONE else wanted to have Gryffindor.
Poor Ravens!

After Harry Potter I went straight to Covent Garden.

Such a beautiful little place.

There are so many interesting stalls of art and fashion - I had another great talk
with the British water colour artist John Pester and bought an art print of him. <3

I want to paint like that, too!!

There is such a cute shop with a lot of great things!

I could buy it all... haha.
So many rabbit and owl stuff!

Having some time off until the next date with Sherlock,
I walked to the subway, get off at South Kingston and found... another beautiful area!
You really can say that this is a surrounding for museums!
So much flair!
I wanted to go the Japanese restaurant TOMBO for a small lunch.
Eating lunch in that little fancy restaurant and buying some matcha sea as a souvenir,
I had to head back to the Museum of London.

The next stop was another Sherlock-thing.

In the subway a girl smiled at me, seeing my bag and we started to have a conversation.
We figured out, that we don't live too apart - she was from Swiss - and that we are both
huge Sherlock fans. <3

She also claimed that there would be a Sherlock Con just two weeks later - but there weren't
any tickets left, we guessed.

The exhibition was great!
You could see so many interesting things of the history of London, the Victorian era, Sherlock Holmes, Sir Conan Arthur Doyle himself and even some original scripts written by Edgar Ellen Poe!

Afterwards you could also walk along the other parts of the Museum of London.
Next time I want to go there, too.
I was just too exhausted by walking and having so many great impressions I left it out.

Now it was time for some walk to St. Paul's cathedrale, Millenium Bridge and Tower Bridge.
I overestimated the path length from Millenium Bridge to the Tower Bridge but it was worth it.
I could also see Shakespeare's Globe theatre, a lot of Shaun the sheep figures (lol) and some more
great little spots along the road.

At Tower Bridge, I went to the exhibition.
Actually, I just wanted to have the great outlook but the exhibition about the history of the building was so exciting that I had to see it all!

But really tired I just had to go to some restaurant, eating dinner.
This time, I went to ATARIYA, at Swiss Cottage - another great area.
It was funny because three little girls were walking behind me, talking German, and just wanted to make a little fun an greated me in English.
But I answered them in German because I overheard their talk and they were so stunned. Haha!

Eating at ATARIYA was delicious. The staff was great.
I could even practised Japanese... at least I thought so.

But lucky me got the Korean waiter, haha.
"Sorry, I'm not Japanese."
How embarrassing!

But the chef in front of me just looked surprised and as our looks crossed he said "Un. Good Japanese."
Haha.

We said Goodbye afterwards in Japanese, too.
The restaurant is really nice since a lot of salarymen, etc. come here.
It isn't cheap but I think nothing is in London.

Wow, that was a day!

So after two great days I already had to leave the country again.

The backflight wasn't too comfortable - I think the pressure equalization
wasn't the best. I really had problems with my ears and conciousness.
(>__<) - And it was pretty stressful at the airport.
I really don't like airports at all.

BUT

it was so worth it!!


Seeing the photos now I just want to go back!!

I already miss the city and its residents so much.
The culture, the great spots, the city's history...
everything.

(Except the food)

Every girl needs NANA ... or what I need

Hello Gals,

it's been so long!

I passed the practical exam a few days ago, so there's only the oral exam left in two weeks.
I'm feeling that much better now since the last weeks were hell to me.

Because I had some resolutions - here is the "TBC" from January:

♪ I gained 2kg and I'm happy about it even though it was of course having an all flat belly (haha).

But I'm feeling better.

♪ I was preparing a lot of stuff for the portfolio which I wanted to present Tokyopop but there is still too much to do. I can't make it to the bookfair in a week and so I will pass. But just to let some time go by and work even harder. I'm satisfied with the things I can draw right now, nevertheless. :)

♪ No real travel plans yet but still want to go to London or Amsterdam.

♪ I haven't practised Japanese ONCE this year (lol).

♪ Trying being nicer took effort. But I really try. Situations relaxed at home a lot since January.

♪ I already look for an own flat with a friend. :)

Things will work out fine.

I'm finally almost free to do what I like and I LOVE IT. <3
I feel like having a life again, haha.



So... life.... what is my plan?


Well let's talk about some PAST, PRESENT, FUTURE things.

Recently, I started to read NANA by Yazawa Ai again and also watched the anime and the movie.
Do you know this great series?

It's about two girls' life: Osaki Nana and Komatsu Nana.
They are so different and still they become friends and each others support.
Their lives and their friendship consist of ups and downs and in the end...

Well, we don't know.
Yazawa-san hasn't drawn anything since leaving hospital a few years ago, except some illustrations and the corner part.

I really love this story of Nana and Hachi.
I love how Yazawa-san put all the chaotic feelings of being a twen into the story and how this does work.
I love how a lot of situations of the manga touches me.

A few years ago I also had sympathy for NANA but right now it seems I really understand things better.


Then there's also another one by Ashihara Hinako: Sunadokei.
It's series with 10 volumes and was published by Planet Shojo here in Germany years ago.

Telling Ann's story the whole thing is about growing up, overcome obstacles in life, being in love for the first time... the whole stuff.

So what's so special, except the artist's style I really love?

I read the story around 2006/2007.
It was the first real slice-of-life I ever read without being focused on serious issues (Confidential Confessions) but about life itself.

Right now, rereading it, a lot of things cleared up.
Things, I couldn't felt back when because I haven't experiemced them.
Now I have and I also have to say that Ashihara did very well in showing all the confusing things you will may have to endure in order to grow.

Of course there are many romantic, shojo-like, scenes - because it IS shojo, but nevertheless it's far more realistic than I have ever imagined.
Haha.

It's very easy to be trapped and stuck in the past because we meet a lot of people and we will lose a lot of people. It's easy because we can't know it all.

Reading these two series makes me in some places very nostalgic but also energetic because I finally seem to get a little bit closer to myself again.


So at the moment things are like this:

I have a job offer and will sign the contract soon, so I will start my new work in Mid April.
I'm looking forward to it even though I'd love it to have a little bit more freetime, but that's life, haha.

I'm looking for a shared flat with a friend and we may have already found something pretty, pretty nice. I hope that's possible. <3

I'm working on tidying up my stuff.
Recently I sold a lot to Ebay and I will look for more things, too.
Almost everyday there is something I will throw away or give away and that feels good.
Today were a lot of old clothes.
So right now I'm doing all the organizing stuff but it's fun.
Really.

Relax and take my time.
That's so much better.

I don't care for big conventions at all.
Next would have been bookfair in Leipzig but I'm glad I can't go.

I also don't feel the need of doing too much cosplay.
There are still two projects I want to finish and that's it maybe for real.

I'm looking forward to the next months of this year.
