Lovely music ♫

Hey Gals,

today I decided to talk about music. ♫
I'm that I haven't written much but at the moment work keeps me busy again!

I really love to listen to almost every kind of music the whole day through.
I wake up to music, I listen to music while going to work or returning home.
I also would like to have some music DURING work, but that's not possible. ;)
You can say I'm totally music addicted.

So what are my favourites?

The 80s
I was born in the very late 80s and didn't get too many impressions of them but of the songs.
It's my mother's favourite decade and so I was introduced to a lot of songs and bands.
I love the fast tracks for disco and dancing but also the ballads. And of course there are some special guys...

Cindy Lauper was such a crazy person in the 80s.
I don't think she's one of the best singers but her songs are pretty enjoyable and "Time after Time" ist just great. ♥

I don't like many songs of AHa but this one is definitely great.
Please look up the "literally" video - it's funny! ;)

I could present you a lot of other songs of these guys, too... ♥
The songs back when are pretty cool, like "Personal Jesus" or "People are People"
But please also check out the newest tracks!

My favourite song of Billy Idol, but please also listen to "Rebel Yell" and "Flesh for Fantasy".

Instrumental - Movie soundtracks - Classical music
While working on comics or photos, I love to listen to instrumental music.
That can be everything: Movie soundtracks, TV soundtracks, piano instrumental tracks or even relaxing music and a lot of classic.

Modern Music

Of course I also love a lot of nowadays songs. The Fray, Ed Sheeran, Emilie Autumn, Within Temptation, Lana del Rey, ... and so many more!

And as you may think and know there are also a lot of other artists I can't get enough of.
At the moment I listen more to English songs but in general I love the Japanese & Korean music.
I will introduce some songs the next time! ♥

April haul

Hello Gals,

I haven't got the time to show you what I bought the last month, so here's finally a collection of the items.
Most of them were on sale - lucky me! ♥

(01) kingdom check blouse in lilac - H&M Divided
I found this on Kleiderkreisel for just 5€ and I love this pattern. ♥

(02) blue-white striped t-shirt - 1982
Another simple and cheap one for a little marine look.

(03) red blouse - TAIFUN
That was definitely a catch! I bought this one when I was in Warnemünde/Rostock
for 10€. Usually it would have cost 40€ so I was pretty happy! The shape is awesome
and so is the fabric! Oh... and it's one size smaller than my real one - maybe that's the
reason for the sale.

(04) printed cream white t-shirt - mexx
I need some shirts in light colours and also with nice prints so that's also mine now.

(05) blue polkadot blouse - H&M
The shape is pretty cute and the dots are tiny and not overwhelming.

(06) black flared skirt - forever21
Just a simple high waist skirt.

(07) black & white floral patterned layered skirt - UNIQLO
I just fell in love with this one! It looks elegant but not too much.

(08) flower earrings - forever21
I absolutely love flower earrings and so I've finally got these in a nice pink tone! ♥

Happy Birthday, Audrey Hepburn! ♥

Dear Gals,

before I get to the real blog entry for today I want to tell you something about my favourite actress and popular star with iconic-status who I really admire.

Audrey Hepburn

I guess most of you know her by her role Holly Golightly in the famous movie "Breakfast at Tiffany's" based on the novel written by Truman Capote.
It's an already 53 years old American movie but it's still magnificient.
Please watch if you get the chance!
A lot of accessories and merchandise have been sold recently - bags, magnets, pillows, mobile phone cases, etc.

The figure of the "Holly Golightly" is just absolutely popular around the world.
But of course there were a lot of other things, Audrey Hepburn did.

Other should seen movies are e.g.: Sabrina, Funny Face, Charade and My fair lady.
There are a lot more I don't mention here, so please take a look at the whole filmography.

Later, she devoted her life to UNICEF and did a lot of great work to support this organisation and their projects in Sudan, Somalia, Mexico, Ecuador, Vietnam, etc.
Unfortunately she suffered of cancer that was diagnosed in 1992 and died one year later.

She won a lots of awards: Academy, Emmy, Grammy, Tony Awards, BAFTA awards for being the best British Acress in a Leading Role.
Moreover, she became a fashion icon and still is, called "the most beautiful woman of all time" and "most beautiful woman of the 20th century" in polls.
If you look at pictures or watch the movies I guess you know why it is so.
It's not only her fashion sense, her natural and very feminine appearance or her long legs and tiny silhouette.
In my opinion it's her charisma which really enchants people, too.
For me there isn't any other woman who's like her.

There is also a statement of hers in an interview of 1959 about her thoughts whether feeling so beautiful how everyone see's her:

"You can even say that I hated myself at certain periods. I was too fat, or maybee too tall, or maybe just plain too ugly... you can say my definiteness stems from underlying feelings of insecurity and inferiority. I couldn't conquer these feelings by acting indecisive. I found the only way to get the better of them was by adopting a forceful, concentrated drive.
(Good Housekeeping, Eleanor Harris, Aug 1959)

And if we talk about fashion & co. ... What part of clothing became very famous through Audrey?

It's the typical "little black dress", designed by Coco Chanel and Jean Patou in the 1920s.
After the release of the movie "Breakfast at Tiffany's" where Holly Golightly's wears that dress it became more than popular in it's varities among women. (In the movie it's Hubert de Givenchy's dress)

"One is never over-dressed or underdressed with a little black dress"
(Karl Lagerfeld)

I think one quote of Coco Chanel really fits her:

So as a finish for this blog entry, some more pictures of Audrey ~ since it would have been her 85th birthday, today!

Gyaru meme - Day 3

Hey Gals,

after having a long break of that meme I think it's time to restart with part 3 of 30.
Very text-heavy but here it comes. ♥

Day 03 – What’s your best and worst experience with non-gyarus?

I think I want to deepen this topic a little bit and talk about people who haven't got "the same interests" as I.

First, it's much easier to reply to the second part of this question and I want to start with that.

I've never been and will not be the kind of girl who obey to idiots.
My parents always told me that I should speak my mind and I did so.
I also wasn't the kind of girl who loved to party during high school or went shopping for clothes and makeup.
There were other things that were more important to me.

But that was also the reason why I had to endure some things.

~ Worst experiences

First, I was always the girl who likes to draw manga, who was the comic reading geek, the one who took sports for the greatest issue in life (yeah, I was an absolute volleyball freak).
So people often made lots of fun of me.
Reading comics was childish, drawing manga was stupid (but sometimes it was good because I they wanted to draw me one, two pictures for the yearbook, etc.), being in the group of volleyball freaks was stupid itself.
Because I haven't got any interest in fashion or makeup or clubbing I didn't fit in and was some kind of outcasted. The fact that I still spoke my mind underlined it.

People couldn't bully me but they tried to and verbal bullying is also not a nice thing to experience.
Time and people change and then my volleyball team also turned me down - I still don't know what their reason was. One of the girls even tried to terrify me physically during practising. But I didn't give a damn and turned the situation to advance: Actually, the harder she hit the ball and aimed for my face the stronger I get in receiving and blocking.
Still I quitted the team because I can't stand such behaviour around me. I scorn such people.

Being part of a theatre group and doing cosplay at the same time helped me to gain much more confidence and to show people only sides of me they are allowed to show. But also show myself in a comfortable and good way.
Clothes or makeup wouldn't have made a difference because I think they didn't like my personality.
They just couldn't stand the me I was back when.
Maybe it would have been a little bit easier if I was into all the things the other girls were but still the problems would have been there.

Starting to show interest in fashion in makeup five years ago made me little by little stronger.
It was something only done for myself.
I lacked in all kind of things: coords, makeup, hairstyling...
But with every new day of that stuff and trying to cope some outfit ideas of my friend Nadine in my very own way it got better.

~ Best experiences

I'm still not the popular one because I speak my mind and just smile if I feel like it but right now it becomes easier since we've all grown up.They are more tolerant towards each other. And one or two black sheeps will always exist. I guess being a teenager is the most difficult part in life.  ~w
But we should always remember that also the "bad" people have influence on us. How we develop, how we feel, where we will stand years later.

I want to say that I'm proud to overcome difficulties and stand my ground.
Thanks to other wonderful people I met in life, thanks to myself, thanks to the things that kept me going.

If it comes to fashion and makeup I also think that I have developed.
I love being a girl, wearing cute and beautful clothes, doing my makeup and trying out hairstyles.
It's fun!

And even the people who haven't got the same interests as me (focus on Japanese culture, fashion, etc.) kept saying "Oh your eye makeup is beautiful!" or "I love your style" or "You look different from others and you know what you can wear! That's great! I admire you!" from time to time.
That sounds cocky but I'm not stuck-up.
I still lack in so many things and I'm far away from good if it comes to hairstyling and coordinating clothes but these compliments also keep me going.

So I'll continue to do my best! ~♫

And:
It's true if people say you can only look beautiful if you feel beautiful (or: can be loved if you love yourself).
Sometimes it's hard to do so but it's worth to keep going.
Because of so many reasons. But above all: for yourself.
